May 2026 - Hiram P. // Makami

Hello everyone, my name is Hiram and I drive a 2022 WRX nicknamed “Makami.” This is my first car, and owning it has truly been a blessing. The WRX platform has always stood out to me because of its deep roots in rally and its place in JDM car culture, so getting the chance to build one of my own has been an incredible experience.

The build originally started as a street-focused WRX, and I had a lot of fun enjoying it that way. But over time I became more inspired by the rally and off-road side of the Subaru community. Living in Arizona surrounded by desert trails and open terrain made it feel right to push the car closer to its rally roots. The transformation started with a 1.5-inch lift using the Eibach Pro Lift Kit, followed by Method 502 wheels and beefier tires to handle the rougher terrain and trails.

Rally Innovations played a huge role in bringing the rally vision together, especially with their front bar that gave the car the lighting capability and aggressive rally look I was going for. It completely changed the front-end presence of the build and made the car feel ready for any adventure, day or night.

Since then, Makami has continued to evolve with new mods and plenty of adventures on and off the pavement. Building this car has been an amazing journey of learning, exploring new trails, and connecting with the Subaru and rally community. I’m excited to keep growing the build and seeing where the next adventure takes it. More trails, more mods, and more memories to come.
