September 2022 - Anthony P. // Whitewater Adventurer

Hi my name is Anthony and I was born and raised in West Virginia. I’m an avid outdoor enthusiast who has spent a decade as a whitewater rafting guide and ski bum, and also worked for a Subaru dealership as a technician. Currently I work as a Crisis Nurse in the ER. I first knew I would own a Subaru in 2004 when my grandfather and I would spend weekends driving around to car lots to see all the new vehicles. That weekend in 2004, I saw the first STI to hit American soil and was instantly in love. A few years later I bought a bone stock 2005 STI and have been building and modding it since.

In winter of 2020, I happened across the best ad ever - 2000 Subaru Outback Sport 5-speed with 88,000 miles, bone stock and a clean body. I bought it the day it went for up for sale. I’ve owned it now for a year and a half, and since then it has been upgraded with 16-inch Sparco Terra’s in bronze and wrapped in Goodrich G-Force Comp 2’s. I have since installed a new clutch, shifter linkage, axles, calipers and rotors, and a Mishimoto radiator. My favorite mod to date is the Infernofab unequal length headers paired to a Stromung dual tip catback exhaust giving it the classic boxer rumble.

Exterior modifications include an imported Subaru OEM front bumper with fairly rare headlight sprayers. This front bumper MADE this car - paired up with the Rally Innovations Rally Light Bar and the four amber Hella 500s light the road beautifully. The OEM Subaru UK sideskirts were imported and paint matched to the car, and a custom made rear diffuser, Rally armor mud-flaps, and aftermarket roof basket to finish off a good rally-inspired look. I will always be a die hard Subaru fan and say I am happy with where the build currently sits, but as car enthusiast, we know we will never stop or be satisfied.
